Salesforce Social Studio

Although Social Studio is part of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, it's actually a separate application to Salesforce and requires a different connection.

How does Trelica work with Social Studio?

Trelica helps IT teams keep on top of what SaaS software has been bought, how much money is being spent on it, how well it's being used and whether everything is compliant from a security and privacy point of view.

Trelica can connect directly to different SaaS tools (like Social Studio) to extract up-to-date information about which of your users are using Social Studio. This will help you improve engagement, deprovision unused seats, and prepare for your license renewal.

You must be a super user or organization administrator of your Social Studio site in order to connect with Trelica.

As an administrator, you may have received an invitation from someone in your IT team asking you to connect Social Studio to Trelica.

Enable API Application in Social Studio

Each Social Studio instance is separate and this means that you have to set-up an API Application in Social Studio in order for Trelica to connect.

Log in to Social Studio and click on the Profile icon at the top-right. Click on the Admin cog icon, and then choose Organization Settings.

Select the Developers can create API Applications checkbox under the API Applications heading.

Create an API Application in Social Studio

Go to the Admin section in Social Studio and click on the API Applications section.

Click Add New.

You will be shown an API Usage Agreement which you should read, and if you consent, click I Accept the Terms and Conditions.

Enter the following details for your new API application:

Name Trelica
Callback URL

Click Save.

If your data is hosted in our EU cloud then please substitute for in the callback URL.

To view the details of your application, find it in the applications list and click on it. A dialog will appear on the left-hand side of your screen that contains the details.

Now keep this browser tab open. You will shortly need to copy the Application Key and Secret to Trelica.

Connecting to Social Studio from Trelica

If you received an email asking you to set up the integration, then just click on the link, otherwise login to Trelica and go to Admin > Integrations to get started.

In the Search... box, just type in Social Studio:

Then click on the Social Studio logo to get started.

Click the Connect button:

You will now have to enter the Application Key and Application Secret for the API Application you just created in Social Studio:

Click Connect.

You will then be asked to log in to Social Studio (if you aren't already logged in) and shown a message explaining that Trelica wants to connect to your organization's Social Studio site.

Click Authorize and you will be taken back to Trelica.

After a short pause, Trelica will start to synchronize with Social Studio and you'll see a green tick when everything is done.

Although this shouldn't take long, you don't have to wait for this to happen - once you're back in Trelica feel free to go off and do other things.

If you click on the View application button then you can go through to the Social Studio profile page and see more information.

At this point you may wish to review the user list or fill in more information about the number of seats you have, when you renew your Social Studio license.
