Paycor

You will need to be a Paycor HR/Company/Payroll Admin to complete these steps.

The Paycor documentation is comprehensive but involves a number of relatively complicated steps so a summary is presented here.

The overall flow is:

  1. Create a developer account
  2. Sign out and Sign in again
  3. Create a new Application
  4. Generate an OAuth Client ID and Client Secret
  5. Define the data that Trelica will be able to access
  6. Activate the Application
  7. Gather together the APIm Subscription Key, Client ID, Client Secret and Refresh token to enter into Trelica. 

Create a developer account

  1. Go to https://developers.paycor.com/join-developer-portal
  2. Click Get started under Are you an existing Paycor client?
  3. Enter your Username and Password and click Sign In.
  4. Select the Client(s) you would like to be able to activate apps from the account.
  5. Select who will be using the apps you build
  6. Select whom you would like to be and administrator of the Developer Portal Account (probably yourself).
  7. Click Request Access.
  8. You MUST now click Sign Out.
  9. Re-enter your Username and Password and click Sign In.

Create a new application

  1. Click Applications on the home screen to get started
  2. Click the + Application button to create a new application, and give it the name "Trelica".
  3. Click Create Application.
  4. Copy the Application OAuth Client ID and Application OAuth Client Secret to somewhere on your computer, and click Save.
  5. Click Got it.

Define the data that Trelica will be able to access

  1. Click on the Data Access tab and select the numerous Access Scopes listed below.
  2. Click Save.

Activate the App

  1. To activate the app you will need the OAuth Client ID and the Application Scope. You should have the OAuth Client ID from earlier (it's shown on the Security Connections tab). The Application Scope is shown on the General tab:
  2. Go to https://hcm.paycor.com/AppActivation/ClientActivation
  3. Enter the OAuth Client ID and Scope and click Initiate:
  4. You will shown a confirmation screen listing the access scopes. Click Next.
  5. Select the client to use with Trelica, check the boxes, and click Integrate:
  6. Finally you will need to create a Refresh token from the Client Redirect screen.
    1. Enter the Application OAuth Client ID. This is shown on the Security Connections tab
    2. Enter the Application OAuth Client Secret. You should have saved this during the initial creation of the Application.
  7. Click Submit.

Copy the Refresh Token. You do not need the Access token.

Connecting from Trelica

Go to Admin > Integrations and find Paycor.

Click Connect.

You will need to enter four things:

  1. APim Subscription Key (available on the Security Connections tab)
  2. OAuth Client ID (available on the Security Connections tab)
  3. OAuth Client Secret (generated when you created the application, but can be regenerated from the Security Connections tab)
  4. The Refresh token you just generated
