Your organization's employees can access the App catalog to browse and access apps in one of two ways:
- By navigating to the App catalog from their Trelica profile menu. The App catalog URL is also available to copy from the App catalog settings page. Individuals must be Trelica users with the App catalog user role or higher.
- From your Happeo intranet. When the App catalog is embedded in an intranet page, as described below, non-Trelica users are added to Trelica automatically.
Add App catalog users
To give individuals within your organization access to the App catalog, you must either manually add them to Trelica as users or configure SAML-based single-sign-on (SSO).
You can manually invite individuals to log in to Trelica from the People directory. If you do not want to grant the individual access to other parts of Trelica, do not select any roles. App catalog access is granted by default. For more information, see Add users manually.
When SAML-based SSO is enabled, a Trelica user account with the App catalog role is created automatically the first time each individual attempts to access the App catalog, providing they have an account in your identity provider. This means that you do not need to add users to Trelica in advance. For more information, see Configuring SAML single-sign-on.
Configure time-based App catalog access
You can define the duration of access users can request through a given policy. Then, as part of their access request, users can pick one of the durations you make available to them.
To set requestable durations for app access:
- Navigate to the application you want to set time-based access options for and go to the "Access levels" section.
- Select the name of the access level you want to add durations for.
- If there's an existing access level policy for that role, select it or select Add access policy.
- Make sure "Access rights" is set to Requestable.
- Then, select timeframe options for accounts under Requestable durations.
- Select Done.
Embed the App catalog in your intranet
If you're using Happeo, you can embed the App catalog in Happeo with a custom embedded widget. This makes it easier for people within your organization to discover the App catalog and get access to approved apps.
You'll need access to the Happeo admin settings to embed the Trelica App catalog in Happeo.
To embed the App catalog in Happeo:
- Select Settings > App catalog to open the App catalog settings page.
- Expand Embed in intranet and select Happeo.
- The widget URL for Happeo is displayed. Select the icon to copy the URL to the clipboard.
- In a different browser tab, open Happeo, select your user profile icon, then select Settings > Apps > Custom Apps to open the Happeo Custom App settings.
- Select Add custom widget and select Embedded widget. The embedded widget settings are displayed.
- Enter a name, then in the Widget URL box paste the Trelica URL that you copied to clipboard.
- Under Scopes, select User primary email.
- Select Add Widget to save the settings, then select View secret.
- Select the icon to copy the Happeo secret to the clipboard.
- Return to the App catalog settings page in Trelica, paste the Happeo secret into the Secret box, and select Save. For security reasons, the saved secret is not displayed.
The App catalog is embedded in Happeo as a custom widget. You can test the App catalog from the Happeo widget editor.

Once you're ready to make the App catalog widget available for inclusion in Happeo pages, change the custom widget status to Published. You can now add the widget to a page in Happeo so that your users can browse and request access to apps. For more information, refer to the Happeo guidance on custom widgets.
To access the App catalog from Happeo, individuals must be Trelica users with the App catalog role or higher. When a non-Trelica user attempts to access the App catalog from Happeo, a user account with the App catalog role is created for them automatically so that they can browse and request access to sanctioned apps.
