LinkedIn Learning

When connecting LinkedIn Learning to Trelica you you will be asked for a Client Id and Client Secret. The Client ID and Secret allows Trelica to return utilization report data for your LinkedIn Learning users, which may be used to facilitate optimization of user licenses.

If you enable Provisioning or Deprovisioning, then you will need to enter a SCIM token. This allows Trelica to utilise LinkedIn Learning's SCIM API for retrieval of your user list and associated user management actions.

Generate a Client Id and Secret

To create a Client Id and Secret:

  1. Log into LinkedIn Learning as an admin and navigate to Me > Integrate.

Create a SCIM Token

If you already have SCIM configured you should use your existing access token for this step.

The following instructions detail how to create a new SCIM access token from scratch:

  1. Log into LinkedIn Learning as an admin and navigate to Me > Authenticate.

What does 'Adding a new SCIM configuration will disable the automatic license provisioning option in SSO settings' mean?

If you have SAML2 Single Sign On enabled then LinkedIn Learning gives you an option to automatically assign a license to new users. This means that the first time someone uses SSO to access LinkedIn Learning then you can assign a license to them. If you enable SCIM, LinkedIn Learning assumes that you will create users via SCIM instead, so automatically turns this option off.

If you have an existing SCIM connection in place then you can simply reuse the token with Trelica.

If you are creating a new SCIM connection, then be aware that SSO will no longer automatically assign licences, so you should consider creating new joiners through Trelica.
  5. Copy the Access token and then paste it into the Trelica integration configuration dialogue for LinkedIn Learning.
